What is it?
JCH helps you organize your spending. Import transactions. Categorize, sort, and filter from your phone or on the web. Do all the basics for free, or pay once for custom rules, and spreadsheet export.
Why
I fell in love with Mint in 2008. I could see all my accounts and spending in one place. It got me into the world of r/personalfinance, and later, r/financialindependence. Best of all, it was free. That was especially important at the start of the Great Recession.
Over the years, many personal finance apps have come out. Some are beautiful, others have made budgeting fun. Many are worth their subscription prices.
But with Mint shutting down, I built this humble tool to help you in your finances. And just like in 2008, it's still free.
Pricing
Didn't you just say it was free? Yes, the important bits are always going to be free. If you want to support the project, and get some sweet features, it's $49 one time. While we're in beta, everything will be free!
Whether you pay or not, there's no ads, and we don't sell your data.
Frequently asked questions
I have a lot of accounts, how do I get all their transactions?
You can link all your accounts for free at PersonalCapital and download a CSV of transactions. (Please share if there are other ways to aggregate transactions for free)
Syncing data from banks costs money. This would require a subscription fee, or selling your data. Neither of which we are interested in.
Is it secure?
We don't connect to your bank, so there is no risk of leaking information where an attacker can steal your money.
Is it private?
We don't sell your data, we don't have ads. Your data is deleted permanently after you close your account.
Do you have a self-hosted option?
Not yet. But we would consider it to give people more flexibility. If you're interested, tell us how you'd use it at [email protected].
Will you track crypto, and other assets?
We have some tools in beta. If you're interested, email us and we can turn those on for your account.
Can I import my Mint history?
Yep! PersonalCapital uses different category names than Mint if you choose to use it as an aggregator.
What does jch stand for?
It's my GitHub handle, and short to type. My name is Jerry Cheung.
I'd love to have a better name for this app ;)
