What is it?

A small app to track investments, dividends, networth, and spending. Import transactions. Categorize, sort, and filter from your phone or on the web.

Why

I fell in love with Mint in 2008. It was the first app that let me see all my spending in one place. It got me into the world of r/personalfinance, and later, r/financialindependence. Best of all, it was free. That was especially important at the start of the Great Recession.

With Mint shutting down in 2024, I wanted to make a fast and free app to track my finances on my phone.

Pricing

It's free. There's no catch. I may add paid features in the future based on hosting and API costs (e.g. account and transaction syncing, investment APIs).

FAQ

I have a lot of accounts, how do I get all their transactions?

You can link all your accounts for free at PersonalCapital and download a CSV of transactions. (Please share if there are other ways to aggregate transactions for free)

Syncing data from banks costs money. This would require a subscription fee.

Is it secure?

I don't connect to your bank, so there is no risk of leaking information where an attacker can steal your money.

Is it private?

I don't sell your data, I don't have ads. Your data is deleted permanently after you close your account. See Privacy.

Do you have a self-hosted option?

Not yet. But I'm open to it. If you're interested, tell me about it [email protected].

Will you track crypto, options, and other assets?

I'm adding things based on my personal use, but enjoy learning new areas of personal finance. Tell me about how you track your finances.

Can I import my Mint history?

Yep! PersonalCapital uses different category names than Mint if you choose to use it as an aggregator.

What does jch stand for?

It's my GitHub handle, and short to type. My name is Jerry Cheung.
